This year, our partners, Ong Johnson, Head of the Technology Practice Group, and Lo Khai Yi,Co-Head of the Technology Practice Group, have the utmost privilege of being appointed by PDPC to join the working group for the development of the three PDP documents announced today, namely, (i) the Data Protection Officer Competency Guideline, (ii) the Guideline on the Management of Data Protection Officer Training Service Providers, and (iii) the Data Protection Officer Professional Development Pathway & Training Roadmap, which will be officially launched on 1 August 2025.
They were part of the drafting committee, working closely with the regulators in developing, designing, and enhancing the PDPA ecosystem, specifically the DPO framework recently introduced in Malaysia under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Today, Ong Johnson and Lo Khai Yi received official certification and recognition from Norman Anak Peter, the Deputy Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, in acknowledgment of their contributions to developing the foundation of the DPO ecosystem and advancing the personal data protection landscape in Malaysia.
